apparently, some changes had to be made...

as a result, i had to postpone the application of colors to the line art.

to accommodate the changes, i had to paste two papers together since the original drawing already took up most of the space in the first paper used. and then i got hold of another paper to draw the bursting "paper/balloon" crocodile you can now see. and then i stitched the modified original drawing together with the additional drawing, using photoshop. i also filled up the center of the original art by inserting this sketch of a girl with sampaguita (compare with original drawing in previous post). finally, i added some texture in the background by making an additional layer and applying various brushes (courtesy of the internet) across the page.

the image was flattened and now the piece is ready for colors.

it's not exactly how i would have thought of the overall look. but due to the changes made and the limited time frame (not to mention the waste if the original design was to be discarded), this will have to do.
