concept:
corruption is such an overpowering social illness that it has not only successfully entrenched itself within the most basic social institutions, but has likewise found for itself a very cozy niche at the core of pinoy culture. it is everywhere. like a predatory cancer, it operates in the sidelines, slowly incapacitating Philippine society.
confronted with such an overwhelming foe, it becomes apparent to Filipinos that the only way to effectively address this problem is by arriving at a consensus that the problem exists and is very real. after which, changes must be initiated in all sectors by every single individual concerned. a change in the government would not be enough if the people themselves carry around this culture of corruption.
everyone ought to chip in. everyone must sacrifice something for the greater good. after all, everyone wins in the end. that is the only way to reach this goal of prosperity for all, and not only for a few.
the illustration seeks to capture such concept by involving as many elements of pinoy society as possible --- whether it be the social institutions (church, mass media, etc) or the various individuals (teachers, professionals, students, workers, farmers, etc.) that compose it. all of them form this stable foundation one can stand on in order to reach this "star" which represents that seemingly unreachable, and yet not impossible, dream.
